Welcome Dear Readers!
As they say, when life gives you lemons….we all reach a point in our lives when we realize that life did not quite turn out the way we imagined it would when we were wide eyed 13 year olds cutting out our wedding dresses from our moms’ magazines. For better of for worse, we are where we are because of all the collective experiences we have accumulated through out the years. We just wake up and say, Yes, it wasn’t the white castle or it wasn’t the handsome prince , but we made it! What we have is something much much more! What we have is a collection of all that we have encountered and it made us Strong, it made us Resilient. We did what we had to do and we came out on Top!
As this reality sinks in, there is a need to celebrate! To rejoice in what God gave us! Something that we did not wish for, nor we did expect, but something that was given to us, to shape and mold and it is Perfect!
I never expected that 10 years after Uni, I would have this hunger and need to go back to school. And so I did! one thing lead to another and I have a teacher’s license and fulfilled my dream to have further studies in the field I’m passionate about — Psychology.
After dabbling in lecturing Psychology 101, Experimental Psychology and Business Ethics for a few semesters, I had to choose between the thankless job of lecturing to entitled brats and hoping to change a life or two ( which I think I did ) or start a business with my current business partner and hope to change more lives and make meaningful improvements in the lives I touch.
Starting a business won and fast forward 9 years later, I still get facebook friend requests from those entitled brats ( whom I grew to love ) and I can happily say I have touched lives for the better. Our organization now employs close to 200 people. Their fields of expertise are from software development to offline and online marketing to banking and insurance and telesales. Very broad indeed.
Despite the feeling of fulfillment, Psychology will always be my first love. And although I do not practice professionally, my friends and friends of friends find it useful to discuss their issues with me. I have been their “in house” psychologist 24/7 and I love it!
By starting this blog, not only do I want to share my life’s journey, I am opening myself to helping others who might need insights from an impartial third party. Someone who might be able to shell out counsel that might put things into perspective.
So enjoy my thoughts and remember that I am interested in yours too!
Just place your questions or issues in the comment area and I will try to answer. Take note that these are my opinions and are not and should not replace professional help nor do I represent myself as a practicing psychologist.
